There are some weddings that feel like more than just a celebration—they feel like a story unfolding in real time. That was absolutely the case with Desiree and Josh Gutierrez. I had the honor of capturing their wedding day, and every part of it was filled with authenticity, joy, and love that radiated from start to finish.
We began at the courthouse, where Desiree and Josh shared an intimate ceremony at the counter—quiet, meaningful, and deeply personal. These kinds of moments are such a privilege to photograph because they’re raw and unfiltered. It was a reminder that weddings aren’t about grandeur—they’re about connection, and this moment was a beautiful reflection of that.
From there, we made our way to Rosicrucian Park in San Jose. If you haven’t been, it’s a hidden gem for portraits, with lush gardens, classic architecture, and peaceful energy that fit the couple perfectly. Desiree and Josh were naturals in front of the camera, and the family portraits we captured there were full of warmth, laughter, and love. It was a joy to see generations come together in a space that felt so serene and timeless.
One creative highlight of the day was a stop in front of the San Jose Improv downtown. With the couple holding hands and smiling in front of the iconic marquee, I later customized the image to display “Mr. & Ms. Gutierrez” as the featured act. It was a playful, personalized touch that reflected the spirit of their day—a blend of romance and fun with a cinematic twist. Seeing them “headlining” downtown San Jose felt like the perfect visual metaphor for the start of their new life together.
The day wrapped up at Loft Bar and Bistro in San Jose—a beautifully styled venue with tons of charm and character. The celebration was full of heartfelt speeches, dancing, and genuine moments that were a dream to capture. From candid laughs to quiet glances between the couple, every frame told a piece of their story.
To Desiree and Josh: thank you for letting me be part of such a meaningful day. Your love for each other, your families, and the people around you was inspiring. I’m grateful to have played a small role in preserving these memories for you to revisit for years to come.
